A lot is happening in the loft sewing room.
The latest storm resulted in some obvious
damage as well as some hidden damage. So,
the hubs is refinishing the door, rebuilding
the step & replacing the threshold.
Sewin's on hold till the clean ups done.
I have resorted to more porch sittin',
fresh lemonade drinkin' and critter watchin'.
I love lazy summer days!
I am sorry for your damage. I know how much trouble, and work is involved in fixing a problem on the house especially. I am sure you will get it all fixed back soon as your husband is such a good carpenter and you are so handy too. Our house is upside down with renovations, tearing out walls and raising floor levels in some parts. It is a giant mess. Sitting on the porch and having lemonade, relaxing and watching the animals is a great way to spend time. We need it anyway, and it gives you a break to get refreshed and ready to go back to working on favorite hobbies.
ReplyDeleteAhh, yes, a bit of porch sittin' late in the evening on a hot summer day is heavenly. There never was an ill wind that didn't blow some good (as my Mom used to say)...the sewing loft will be better than ever.
ReplyDeleteAmazing what a storm can do and reveal! Glad you get more porch sitting and critter watching. I don't have quite the view you do, but just to be outside enjoying the fresh air is wonderful. Enjoy your critters!
ReplyDeleteOh, so sorry about the damage, but it will be good as new, I know the quality of work your mister does. Porch sitting! We do it every evening. Lots of bird watching, laughing at the antics of the rabbits and reviewing our day. Ahhh, life is good.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry about the storm damage. Hope everything is better now.
ReplyDeleteSometimes damage is a blessing in disguise, if it allows you to find problems you didn't know were developing. But glad your handy hubs has it covered. :~) Our critter watching is over a golf course, but we manage to see coyotes, javelina, road runners and a zillion rabbits. I think yours would be better--because you have the lovely woods to see as well!
