Here are some early 1900's Valentine's postcards

that are a bit different, but if you're as old as I 

am, you might recognize the artist.   Maybe

you even owned a pair!

For Your Enjoyent-1930's Raphael Tuck Postcards

 This set of six cut-out postcards is called 
"The Dollhouse Series".

They were illustrated by W. H. Ellam and sold in the 1930's.
I love the soft colors and sweet designs.  So typical of the time,
right down to the teddy and Golliwogg dolly.  Wouldn't these
postcards have turned an empty box into a little girls delight?

This whimsical set of six cut-out postcards called the

"Zoo Zoo Series" were illustrated by A. L. Bowley

and sold in the 1930's.  They make me smile!!

I can these as unusual stuffed animals......

All is well at the cabin.  Steve is still recovering, 
much slower than he would like, he's ready to get
 back to his little shop......it's gonna be a while!  
I've moved my bachelor brother in with us.  He's 
improving too.  They are both good grateful patients 
with no complaints & I have really been enjoying them.

Tuck Post Cards-Dressing Dolls

This set of six "Dressing Dolls" paper doll postcards
were sold in Great Britain in 1930.  No doubt some
of them made their way across the big pond to mail
boxes here in America. 
Each paper doll has 2 sets of adorable clothing,
matching hats and a pet or toy.  My favorite is
Jack with his sailor outfit and little puppy.

August was a busy month for us here at the

cabin.  Our son and daughter were here at

 same time, something that doesn't happen very

often and we especially enjoyed our time together.

The hubs has been having issues with his neck.

After a couple visits to urgent care he wound up seeing

 a neurosurgeon.  He is doing physical therapy here at 

home in hopes of avoiding surgery.  It was my turn for

a thorough physical & all the subsequent tests.

I am proud to say I survived the dreaded colonoscopy!

I had issues with my needle pushin' finger I jammed

last winter & ended up at urgent care too.  After a 

round of antibiotics it's much better, but I am going to

give it ample time to recover.....again.  No sewing for 

a few weeks.  Although neither of us accomplished much

 this past month, we have enjoyed spending so much extra 

time together.  All in all, were in good health and count

 ourselves very lucky indeed.

We celebrated our 43 wedding anniversary

this week with a date night at Sonic, for a burger

and a sundae.  To quote the hubs "If this had

been a first date, I'd have called for a second."

How sweet is that???

1930 Window Garden Series Postcards by Rapael Tuck

Just imagine receiving a of beautiful pot of flowers
  in the mailbox from a dear, far away friend.  Simply
 cut it out, place it in the kitchen window & enjoy it
for days on end!

 Easy to read directions at the bottom.

Hard to pick a favorite.  Aren't the
pot covers lovely too?

Directions copied from back of card:
Cut out the Pot Cover and join it by inserting the

end into the little slot which has to be made

where indicated.  Cut round the flowers, also 

round the circle (which represents the mould) and

the inside pot.  Do not separate the flowers.  Also

cut stalks on each side from top of circle, then

bend the flowers so that they are upright.

Take the two bunches of flowers and let them

back each other and insert them with the inside

pot into the Pot Cover.
