They are quite plentiful in the woods near Galena where we are building our cabin. Several times we have had to turn a turtle over as he has fallen on his back and will die without assistance. Lat time there was a turtle right next to the upside down turtle, I wonder if it was trying to help him turn over? Our neighbor says this happens during mating, the male falls off backwards, poor fellow.
