Merry Christmas 2015

I love this sweet little Raphael Tuck postcard from 1906.
In case your wondering where I've been......
The hubs has been suffering with neck pain for about a
year.  The past couple months have been rough.  To his
delight he finally had surgery! (I was a basket case).
He is home and doing very well, but full recovery
will take several months. We are fairly confident he
will set off the alarm bells next time he walks through the
body scanner at the airport or gets near a metal detector!
My bachelor brother, ( I have referred to him
as my "eccentric" next door neighbor in a couple
of posts!) had a stroke.  As far as strokes go, he is in
fairly good shape.  Issues with his right side and some
vision loss.  He is also home and fingers crossed,
will have improvement.  I'm his "wheels"and his
"meals on wheels".  Needless to say, I am concentrating
on the important things in life.....family.
Frankly, we all feel very lucky around here, things
could certainly be a lot worse.  I don't know about you,
but I am very good at imagining the worst!!!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas
& a Happy New Year!

  1. You have certainly had a rough time. I am glad your husband got the surgery and will be better, and so sorry about your friend. I think both of these conditions with care can improve. You never know what someone is going through or what problems or multiple problems they might be having. I am sorry about your finger, and hope the antibiotics will heal you up. You are a brave soldier and true to your family and friends in good times and bad, and I know they are so grateful for all you are doing for them. Do what you must, but remember to rest yourself as well. All my best wishes are with your family and your neighbor. God bless you and I do wish you all a sweet Christmas even with all the sickness. Love, Martha

  2. Oh my, you have been busy! Glad the hubby is so glad and optimistic--it will help him heal faster. And here's hoping the bachelor bro will improve greatly as well. Just remember in all the care-giving, to recharge your own batteries, or you'll be no good to them. ;~)

  5. For sure, family is the most important thing! Hopefully, your husband and brother will be up and about and doing well before very long. Of course, they have the best of love and care right at home! You will be in my thoughts and prayers! May your Christmas be Merry, and the New Year the very best!
